ROOT KNOT NEMATODES

1. Most noticible feature will be spots in field that are about the size of a truck that have died or yellowed. The center of the spot will die first and as they spread outward, the plants still have leaves in various stages of dying.

2. When you pull up the plant, Root Knott Nematodes will have caused galls to form on the roots of the plants. They best observed on the plants that still have some green or yellow leaves on them. The plants that are already dead, do not have any roots left to observe.

3. The difference between R.K nematode galls and nitrogen fixing nodgules is: the nematode gall is; usually much larger, it will not rub off, and it is hard to the touch.

the nitrogen fixing nodgule is: smaller rubs off very easily and can be squashed easily it is salmon color inside if it is active darker green or gray/black in later stages of maturity.

4. Root Knott Nematodes are for life ... no cure !
